Will my army defend a lvl 0 fortress?

Will my army defend a level 0 fortress if the retreat option is selected and my opponent selects "fortress seige?"
The whole point is to save my developing army.

i think so, but it only has space for 100 soldiers

sorry, i forgot, it has no garrison space, then most likely no u cant retreat to ur fortress at all, cuz its like u dont have 1

I don't want to retreat to my fortress where my army will be destroyed along with the fortress.  I want to avoid any battles until my army is ready!  And as far as I know when you select retreat your army does not retreat to the fortress it simply avoids the fight.

Thus again...will my army be forced to defend a level 0 fortress if my opponent selects Fortress Siege?

Theoretically the answer should be no however it all depends on how the game is programmed.

RETREAT

You can "program" your army to retreat from the battlefield in organized order, before the battle starts.
If the province is attacked with Fortress Siege attack, your army WILL fight regardless of the order given. The retreat option works only when the attack is Pillaging or Field battle

i think the point is that u have no where to run away to, so u would be forced to fight even ur fort is lvl 0.

Fortress level is not important at all. Retreat mode works for field battle and pillage, but your army will fight anyway against fortress siege, despite fortress level.
