Alliance researches in V4 rules

In the most new realms are rules version 4 and there is alliance researches that help all members in alliance. We did some researches and for example saw cartography. Have 4+(1) but when I attack someone it's only cartography 4, not 4+1=5. Is it bug or something other? What's the point with alliance researches, we give money for nothing.
