So I have a suggestion for the way the Imperial Reserves are implemented since Depots are no longer available to conceal goodness but are still need to move resources from point to point.
Summary: I think one should be able to stash enough resources to get the majority of resources needed to build Fort 4-5. So far I'm up to lvl 8 reserve and it only holds 22872. With a limit at lvl 10 in Prov 8, and assuming it's going up 2k + 10% per level (I think that's how it's being calculated) the max you can expect is 32293. That's not even enough for half of Fort 3...this makes a defensive starting strategy much more difficult since you can't hide in depots. Having lost my fort 4 twice now in Realm 38 I'm just a little bit frustrated...but I digress.
As it stands, Imperial Reserves are somewhat useless and one still has to incur the cost of depots that no longer function properly to be able to migrate resources from one prov to another.
My recommendation would be this...
Increase the cost to build the Imperial Reserve - make it an expensive proposition to get into it so balance doesn't become an issue, but also let the capacity grow at a doubling rate so that it's cost doubles with each level (or even quadruples to make it really expensive at lvl 10) but it's storage also doubles. This would give it a progressive scale and make it worthy towards end game as well...
NOTE: I think the costs would need to be balanced a little better...this was done just as an illustration.
Capacity: Costs: Lvl 1 = 2,000 Cost = 250 Wood, 250 Iron, 250 Stone, 250 Gold Lvl 2 = 4,000 Cost = 1000 Wood, 1000 Iron, 1000 Stone, 1000 Gold Lvl 3 = 8,000 Cost = 4000 Wood, 4000 Iron, 4000 Stone, 4000 Gold Lvl 4 = 16,000 Cost = 8000 Wood, 8000 Iron, 8000 Stone, 8000 Gold Lvl 5 = 32,000 Cost = 16000 Wood, 1600 Iron, 16000 Stone, 16000 Gold Lvl 6 = 64,000 Cost = 32,000 Wood, 32,000 Iron, 32000 Stone, 32,000 Gold Lvl 7 = 128,000 Cost = 64,000 Wood, 64,000 Iron, 64,000 Stone, 64,000 Gold Lvl 8 = 256,000 Cost = 128,000 Wood, 128,000 Iron, 128,000 Stone, 128,000 Gold Lvl 9 = 512,000 Cost = 256,000 Wood, 256,000 Iron, 256,000 Stone, 256,000 Gold Lvl 10 = 1,024,000 Cost = 512,000 Wood, 512,000 Iron, 512,000 Stone, 512,000 Gold
This way you would make it so someone would REALLY have to commit to wanting that storage capacity and open up a few different strategies for how and when they are used, but if they do make that resource committment it will be worth the time and investment made well into the end game. You could also add modifications from Fortifaction or Military Architecture to increase the storage capacity much like Fortress Garrisons and Fortress Walls to further enhance the capacity. This would allow more accessibility to higher end skills, particularly on the longer run realms and open other tactical opportunities to add diversity.
I hope ya'll will comment and critique this idea. I believe it has merit but may need to be fleshed out a bit still
