Are supply wagons required when looting from an Independent City?

The only possible attack type against a Barbarian Camp is a Field Battle. Field battle doesn't loot resources from the attacked holding which is why you don't need supply wagons or any carrying capacity to transfer the resources back to your Empire. You can send only Fortress Siege against an independent city, and when you send successful Fortress Siege to loot resources from the independent city, your army will loot the amount of resources the carrying capacity of the sent units and supply wagons allows. More supply wagons will increase the carrying capacity and help you bring more resources back, but in some cases they may not be necessary, if the rest of the attacking army has enough carrying capacity to loot the resources available in the independent city.
