Dark Fortress Event Time

The Dark Fortress event is very important for many alliances and players to get gold, but this time you have shortened the event duration so much, that you are practically excluding 1/3rd of the world from participating. I realize that most players are from Europe, but having an 8 hour duration that starts in the middle of the night in the Western Hemisphere is just plain unfair.
Instead, if you must keep it 8 hours long, how about starting it 8 hours before midnight server time? We all know everyone is playing at midnight to open their gifts - the game becomes very slow and crashes, so there will be plenty of people capable of taking advantage of Dark Fortress.
