Academy Bonuses Not Working After First Level

On realm 273, I have level 2 of both Academy of Sciences and Academy of Military Sciences, and each are showing only a 50% reduction in research times.

A 50% reduction is the bonus yielded at level 1, and I would expect the level 2 bonus to be a 66% overall reduction (if it operates on an inverse curve) or 75% overall reduction (if exponential).

On realm 277, my Academies are both only level 1, and I can confirm that the bonus there is indeed the expected 50% reduction.
