Has moral for defender any sense at all?

I think i read somewhere that defending armies can't flee from battlefield, and even if they can, i never saw them doing so. Does it influence anything else, or is the defender skill just totally useless?

Hello yxcv,
Fortress garrison do not have morale because they simply cannot escape anywhere. When a group from a defender's army in a field battle flees from the battlefield, he automatically loses 20% of his remaining troops in the battle. This also applies for the attacker too.
