Agree, Move city closer to Guildmembers or move away from some reckless bully would be very helpfull.
Me and my friend began to play almost at same time and we ended up at distance 1400 apart each other,
is starting location just at random or does it fill up on a pattern on the grid?

These are two different suggestions. Kervin was suggesting to move the buildings within an empire, not the whole empire on the global map.
Option which was available in the beta version, however removed because it was causing a lot of confusion for babysitters and players.
The option to move a city on the global map is not available in version 6. It might be available in the future, but this depends on the game developers and needs of the players.
