I launched an attack with 35 catapults and 65 trebuchets. They show in the field battle, but they don't show in the fortress seige. i lost my army and the Artillery and a whole load of gold because of this bug.

I fell foul of this mistake myself...it's not a bug.  You are just not reading the report correctly.

Click on where it says Fortress Siege and scroll down.

You will see that your troops fled the battle due to low morale.  Seeing as you lost all your siege equipment is lost too...your army left it behind when they ran away.

You have only won if there is a section on the report that says Battle Against the Garrison and you actually won that too.

Thanks, now I am not so bitter any more, just a bit wiser on how many soldiers to send in the future.

Look at the morale at the end of fortress siege. Is 31... so just after you broke the wall, your army didn't want to fight against garrison...

I think you must use siege calculator better.
