When attacking with a combination of units, how are they distributed. Evenly in the lines? Do you have any control over how they are distributed?

only tactics research give you few options...but you can't set anything to fight how you wish

researching tactics gives u some formations only, maximizing the effectiveness of ur troops is upto u, like how to put cavalry in flanks and swordsmen in the center. do some reseach here in forums. a lot of threads discuss how to achieve this.
