After reading the discussion; I'd like to hear everyone's opinion... personally I'm not sure if the battle-stop is a good idea because a lot of players don't celebrate Christmas or other holidays... anyway; please tell the world what you think! I wish you all a very very happy Christmas!  |

i voted yes, but also for other non-christian holidays. but i think only 4 the major holidays should it be made, not every single one, so we would have 5 or 6 time outs like this a year... and i wanna 2 days also 4 NYE, detoxification is a slow proces |

Actually the stopping of the battles has nothing to do with religion - it is a practical decision to minimize chance of anything going wrong and us not being able to react as quickly as we usually would. We are working with very shortened staff during Christmas and New years eve and if something major goes wrong with the battles it may be hours before we can react, which would be horrible considered the number of battles we have each day... So it is a precaution to keep Christmas MERRY for everyone - for us not having to worry about something happening while we are not available (say 00:00 on 31st...) and for the players not having to worry about their armies getting killed because it is 00:00 on the 31st server time and we are not around...
As for the lack of warning - it is a mistake on our part - the news was supposed to be posted on the 21st, but there was a miscommunication and was forgotten.
