Boost your population

I have been playing with the idea of boosting my population in a new province by making cheap units send them to the new province and disband them there. Is there anyone out there that have tried this?

Maybe this is a common strategy or maybe it is totally useless?

it is a good idea i think but i do not just make troops to send ways i do it is when i upgrade units i disband the old ones ( bats to rams / rams to trebs ).... but yes if you want make like spears and send them to a prov i think it can be worth it

It was when I was doing that I got the idea. And by making them cheap troops in a province with over 100k pop and where pop.-growth is slower, then send them to a lover populated prov. where pop.-growth is normal you will gain even more.

I'm interested in econ but this is pointless strategy.  Go pillage and kill some villagers with those spears and with the gold build more gran man!

When you disband to the lower population provinces just make sure you got high enough beureaucracy when you disband, because the first five provinces has the highest efficiency, so moving villagers, your lower provinces should have sufficient beureaucracy when you do that. Good Luck and thanks for the compliment. For me personally, I don't know about others because everyone plays the game differently, I usually move villagers when I got minimum beureuacracy lvl 12, transferring villagers this way is like adding an extra granary everywhere.

but start to use this strategy when you have few provinces over 100k people. best recruit archers and spears in simple plains when they aproach 99,9 k. because after exactly 100000 people growth slows down 10-15 people imidietly per hour. taking from provinces which have some production bonus is not so smart. And do it after you 7 province because before that you have smarter stuff to spend resources on. and colonizing mountains with that strategy works great. i colonize till 80-90 k then leave till 150 k and then populate till 200k. but dont go over 200k in mountains, thats the limit and you will get negative population.
and be sure to have enough free space when disbanding units. you dont wish that the same things hapend to you like to kingjohn. he disbanded 10000 spears and then activated farm, then wondering why his spears get lost.

I am now recruiting in my prov. 8 with 90k pop, and move it to my 3d province which has 100% efficiancy and is mountains with pop about 25k at the moment.

thats ok. you will get 20 % bonus on iron and stone and you will pay losing half of resources very quick. but it would be even better if you wait till your 8 reach 98000-99999 and the recruit keeping population betwen 98 and 99999 population. growth is the bigest then. )
