Fort 8 has double hitpoints and the attacker needs 1000 or more trebs *Tongue*. And it's so expensive *Grin*

the attacker needs 2500 trebs to knock it in 4 rounds

the best formation is 70k paladins,10k elite archers,40kphalanx,20k guards *Smiley*

sure it will be wiped by someone but not from all,
tonight i will wipe 170 k elite *Smiley*

first u said no best formation,,and now far away ,,so there is one in ur opinion   X)
in my opinion ,all armies can be defeated even with kamikazee.but u should
let the player fear  the high amount of paladins and go for another easier one  *Tongue* *Tongue* *Tongue*

we all read the manuel so we know that phalanxes kill paladins,,but this formations need  double army to defeat it at least while other formation can be defeated by 1.5x armies
try to have some fun with the battle calculator  *Tongue* X)

Just try with 40k paladins, 50k guardians and 100k phalanx. This army costs less than yours.
By the way, Leila proposed a game with armies but it wasn't too attractive for many players *hmm*

My main fort is usually 50-100% filled with Archers, H. Archers or E Archers (depending on what I can produce). If I have outer forts they have about 75 Archers in each no matter the size of the fort. I have no idea if this is a good strategy, it's just what I do.

Neb usually suggests 100.
I think bec. x4 keep either 80 or 120 or 400
all you want to do is inflict point damage in the outer forts

Now Nasio and Radoo what you haven't specified is whether you are hitting an empty fort; and if not then what are you estimating inside the fort???
'Cause surely some1 who has fort 8 isn't leaving it around empty for guys with 2500 trebs to swoop on in

My advice:

- do not keep anything inside fort except of 2-3k elite archers. Keeping any kind of spearmen inside fort is almost suicide  *crazy* ; keeping portion of your cavalry inside fort dramatically (unless you have zillions of paladins) reduces the total damage of your field army and in many cases is the mistake which leads to loss for defender; keeping swordsmen inside fort is pointless since the attacker will have survived cavalry and easily kill them; keeping proportional portion of your field army in garrison will just weaken the main army, besides any spears inside fort will lead to easy win for the attacker.

anyway that's my real advice - do an army save trip ;o it's not necessary to be boring army save...just attack province with army and a lot of gold - you'll get gold, military points, honor and your army back *Smiley* then use the gold to rebuild losses, steal more from neighbours, kill some if possible and when you want to go offline just repeat the operation. Of course there is a possibility that someone will try to catch your army save but think from the other side - if your army was at home it would be even easier for him to kill it, not to mention that he won't be able to have spy information about your army size and unit distribution if it's not at home and you can ambush him with adding fresh reinforcements. And catching army save with less than 5 seconds delay is not so easy even for experienced players...and usually 5 seconds are more than enough to remove your army if you have reliable connection.

nice!! maybe I should give that a try

Id have 1000 E Archers and rest Pala's in the fort. And in front of the fort:2/4 Phalanx, 1/4 Guards and some more paladins.
