Is this a bug?  I've noticed a player that keeps just 1 spearman in his fortress.

I have attacked several times, my morale at 100 when attacking.

The battle report says I've lost 500+ men and 8 rams because I fled the field.

Something seems wrong here if 2600+ troops can flee the field against 1 spearman.

I had 1900 points when I attacked, the defender had 1600...is that why? Still seems odd.

This has to be a bug, I attack 3 times now with thousands of troops and still flee from battle with just 1 spearman in the fortress.

Wouldn't you rather read the manual before break your head on the wall?  *stop*

School boy error! how do you expect to siege a fortress without siege equipment?!?

*bear* a toast to the defender!

I've read the manual, several times and it doesn't say anywhere that you need X amount of siege equipment to defeat a certain level fortress.  What it does is give you the HP and damage of each and you have to do the math.

Is this a game of math?

Suggestion: add an example to the manual that 8 rams won't destroy a level 4 fortress before your troops morale lowers so much that they flee.  Or other examples for newbies to understand.

Suggestion to posters here:  assume that not everyone has been playing this game for ever and respond accordingly.  You are not exactly providing a pleasant experience for any newbies reading this that might want to post another question but are now afraid they will be laughed at.

Thanks.

he, he, from hp and siege attack, u can see if u can destroy a fort. download siege calculator and practice some simulations. u can`t know always what tyoe of siege u need, since it depends on many factors, morale, fortifications, province type etc

Sorry Rabain, I did not want to hurt your noob feelings  *rose*

However, this is game with lots of math. You'll find it out sooner or later.

Yes all computer games require math to work...not all require you as a player to do math in order to understand how the game works.

I never liked math...just the teacher. *Smiley*

I also apologise as well if i caused any offense, as mentioned it does take alot of considerations in besieging a fortification!
The disappointing factor with this game is that you cannot besiege a fort simplying by trying to starve them out, the calculator is easy to use when it works!

No worries...it's just frustrating when you send a massive army and 1 spearman standing on the wall gives you the finger....

But the army need to catch that 1 spearman, mean that the fort must be destroyed *Grin*
And the number of units doesn't matter when doing a fortress siege, because 1000 spearmen can destroy a fort 3, but 100.000 paladins will never destroy a fort 1 *freak*
P.S. There is a battle calculator especially for big battles. I think you can do some math in some cases like 1000 spearmen with 5 melee attack will make 15000 dmg every round. It's easy math, just use your brain *freak*
