Won't allow battle.

On several different occasions I have tried to launch an attack. I select the necessary forces for the attack. But when I hit any of the attack buttons the system cancels all my selections and I get the message "You must have at least 50 soldiers to attack".
My question is are there any reasons for this?

I suppose that you send a group that is smaller than 50 is the only reason that i can see

The Last Attack I tried to send was 40,000 Troops.

Look overall you sended 40k troops but in those 40k troops there must be a class of units that has less than 50 soldiers of the same tipe. Maybe is some of those light soldiers that got wasted and you have less than 50 left.  Nice gaming
