Hi, I just sent an attack to a goldmine, with its castle destroyed (according to the map), no soldiers inside, and I loose the battle, how?

forts can't be destroyed, only damaged.
a damaged fort keeps all its hp intact, but hte province can't build or research.
to plunder a fort, you need to break the walls during the siege phase ... if your morale goes below 50 while trying to do so, there is a random chance that your army will flee, irrespective of whether there is a garrison of if the fort was damaged or not.
