Title: Beginners questions
Post by: Rubin on January 16, 2008, 02:08:37 AM
FAQ says, that the first function of banking is to give in return of empire money.
How does this work?

Do I have to put my gold in the bank or what?

And is it possible to rub it (for my enemy, that is, of course... or me in their banks...)?

And 'inactive yet'???

Can I take an entire enemy empire or do I have to take province by province?

Can an army do damage in a province without attacking the castle (or army in the field)?

What is max level of buildings and reserch?

Is there a max of inhabitants in a province?

Is there a max of soldiers in a province or throughout the empire?

What is recomended numbers of these two?

Do I have to do the same reaserch in every province?

Are resources at the market total resources in all empire, or just in one provins?

Does it cost to move resources?

Many questions, I know, but if I only got a small answer on them...

research banking only to a lvl3, nothing about it works except taking loans, nut u can't even return it be4 the 168 hours

province by province

u can pillage, by doing that u kill enemies peasants, the thing is that u need an army at least 10% of his pop (if he has 100k villagers, u need 10k soldiers).

there isn't max lvl, except 4 some things (trade, fortress, banking)

there is, but u can increase it with farms and granaries (most pop u can have in plains and least in mountains)

no

as much as u can

no, researches are 4 entire empire, only buildings u have to built from the beginning

i don't quite get the q?  *pardon*

no

well, i covered 'round 90%  :D

Is it any point in not having as many peapole in the province as possible?

What if I do not return the borrowed money to the bank?

Can I enter the market in, say, provins 8 and sell all the wood, I have in the empire, or must I go to province 7 and sell the stok of wood, that I have there?

In a war, does my enemy get negative points for actions that I get points for (for example if my army goes pillaging)?

Sorry for destroying your 90 % statistik... :)

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 16, 2008, 19:42:00 PM
the point is to have ad much people as possible (more people > more resources > even more people > even more resources... u get the point, right? :D )

u can't not return it, it automatically takes a part of ur gold every 6 minutes for the whole week, until the payment is complete (it will take gold only from prov 8, no matter what says the manual)

no, u have to sell it in every prov separately

he doesn't get negative points, u get positive points :) for every 1000 villagers u killed u get 1 point, and for every 5000 gold worth number of soldiers u get also 1 point, u also get points 4 destroying enemy fortress (higher the level > more points)

now i have 95%  :D

Is it with gold as it is with the rest of the resources, for example you have 10k in one provinse and 14k in an other, or do you then have 24k in total?

getting closer to 100%! I need to find more questions... :D

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 18, 2008, 00:41:04 AM
yes, it's like other resources, i u wanna have ur res in one place, u need to develop and use depot stations :)

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Rubin on January 18, 2008, 13:42:26 PM
Yes, I have one more question:
How do I best defend a fortress?
I think, I read somewhere, that cavalry can´t attack a fortress. Does this mean, that archers have a relative large advantage? And spearmen lose their advantage?
So what sort of soldiers do I use?

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 18, 2008, 14:28:30 PM
well, it all depends on the composition of the attackers army and yours. i usually fill the fort with archers, they have great bonus there, and on the battle field they are not very useful, especially if the enemy has a lot of cavalry. but sometimes, if u some1 attacks u while ur online, it's useful to change ur garrison composition, u can win an impossible battle just by rearranging ur army.
4 example: if u see that ur attacker is bringing a lot of spears, and ur cavalry will almost certainly be slaughtered, put ur cavalry inside the fort, but leave 'round 200 archers inside, and the rest out, this way ur archers will kill most of the enemies spears in the battle field, and with those 200 in the fort he'll lose 7 moral per round, so when he reaches ur garrison, he'll have low moral and no spears, so ur cav might bring u victory.

also if u wanna protect ur fort, research high lvl of fortification

And you can´t take the provinse unless you take the castle, right?

yes

More questions...
Is it possible to steal resources from caravans, when an enemy is sending resources from between provinces?
I wonder if you in the end will have answered more than 100 % of the questions... :o

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Rubin on January 22, 2008, 23:22:52 PM
hmmm... Now I've been attacked. This makes me wonder:
It is not allowed to post the battlereport (yet).

But for example:
I have a division of spearmen.
My enemy attacks me with cavalry and archers.
How is it determind, who I fight? Againt the cavalry, I have bonus, but the archers kill me while they sleep...
And what if I also have archers?

I lost my soldiers inside the fort, and had only a small number of men left in the field, but still the enemy fled (with what seemed to me to be a superior force). How is this possible?

And in the report, at the very bottom, it says:
Points       gold        honor       Rubin
-23           7813       2             win

Did I loose points by beeing attacked?

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Radooo on January 22, 2008, 23:31:13 PM
If you army is killed than you lose points. And you can use the battle calculator to see how soldiers fight :P

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 22, 2008, 23:35:45 PM
throw of a dice decides whom u'll fight (in other words it's random)

archers start shooting 1 round before others. if u have archers in the fort, they won't fight until the field battle is finished and the fortress siege starts. u lost points 'cause some of ur troops got killed, training army brings u points, but losing also takes them away. i'm sure that the enemy lost greater amount of points. he fled 'cause ur fort was too strong, and his moral droped under 50

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 22, 2008, 23:37:24 PM
My enemy attacks me with cavalry and archers.

p.s.
:o he send only cavalry and archers to a fortress siege? :D

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Rubin on January 23, 2008, 17:03:00 PM
heh :D... I wish, but no, that was just an example...
Now, I wish to take revenge on someone.
So I keep wondering:
I want to develop spy-technology. What is the advantage of a spy?
Well sure, to tell me things, but how precise are these informations, and how easy is it to get rid of an enemy spy?
And how do I know, when I have an enemy spy within my borders?
... or when my outposts have cauth one?

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 23, 2008, 19:20:20 PM
spy is very useful, it tells u precisely (100%) what lvl of fortress does the enemy have, how many resources, and what army. to see if u have enemy spy within ur borders go to intelligence>counter espionage, there u can see who send the spy and kill it. if the enemy spy is 2 or more lvls higher than ur borders, u won't be able to see who sent it, but u can still kill it. when some1 sends u a spy, and ur outposts caught him, u'll get a message from gamemaster

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Rubin on January 24, 2008, 00:56:35 AM
Have 2 provinces.
One has wood +20% and lumbermill level 10
The other has no extra wood production, but lumbermill level 20
But when the same amount of workers are hired, the province whitout bonus produces more wood. How can that be?

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Radooo on January 24, 2008, 00:57:32 AM
different fort, maybe not same efficiency :-X

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 24, 2008, 01:08:26 AM
every fort lvl. gives ur prov +10% production

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Rubin on January 24, 2008, 14:44:05 PM
That may explain it. :)

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on January 24, 2008, 19:21:50 PM
also, every new prov works with 20% less production, u have to build bureaucracy to increase the prod rate of ur provs. every lvl gives u +5%, so i u want all ur provs to work 100% u need 4 lvls. buro for each prov, and when u reach buro 20, u can have as many provs as u want, they'll all work with 100% prod (20*5%=100%).

p.s. u can't go over 100% with buro, to increase prod above 100% u need to build fortress (but it won't show in the prov report, u'll just produce more)

Title: Re: Beginners questions

Is it possible to upgrade soldiers (for example from spearmen to phalanx)?
And what is the strategy map for?

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Radooo on January 28, 2008, 23:59:03 PM
You can't upgrade soldiers.
And strategy map is used to see where are you on the map and where are other players/alliances...it's the most useful map *pardon*

Title: Re: Beginners questions

there's no limit on that, but u can't have multiple acc. in one realm

Title: Re: Beginners questions

Cavalry:
Where does the cavalry have the greatest effect, in the fortress (assuming, you have available space) or in the field, when you are attacked?

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on February 04, 2008, 22:11:37 PM
again, it all depends on the attacking and defending army... cav is great in the field battle, in the fort it just sits pointlessly... but later when u have fort 7 or 8 and u can put 15k pals inside, they can give u few extra rounds after the siege, and that just might tilt the scales in ur favor... but if u divide ur troops like that, be sure that ur field army won't be affected too much (u know the saying “divide and conquer”?)

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: Rubin on February 05, 2008, 02:01:38 AM
Maybe I am a bit slow here, but if I have a small fort, that can't hold the etire defending army, do I divide it (for example, I understand, that archers are best inside a fortress) or do I keep it together?
And what if I let the fortress stay emty, but hav a larger army outside? Is it possible to sack the province anyway?

Just put the archers in fort, and leave the rest of the army outside.

No, is not possible to attack the province, before attacking field army.

Is better that you read a little manual. There are 3 types of attack.

ok, let me ask a few noobish qs.... *pardon*

if you have men built in the training soldiers window, but dont mobilize them yet, do they still drain your empires gold for upkeep?

is the red and black gambling rigged?  *Angry*

is it better to attack a smaller fort you can take with just your army so you dont risk losing your really expensive seige weapons?

how come it doesnt show last activity report under a players stats? do you have to b a premium member? if so, thats such an unfair advantage  X)

how can their be tactics involved in an alliance war? ive never done it before, havnt played for a year or so, read realm 25 top players thread if u want to no about some stuff that happened their....
can you start your own personal war, lik if i was in no alliance?  *Angry* i think i can hold out  :D jp
um...lets see...and i got another controversial question....i have a couple friends that introduced me to this game...but after awile they recently pointed out that they quit because some of the moderators let ppl cheat from thier own country ...ive heard this from a few ppl..??? idk if this is true or not, but how come ppl jus dont point out cheating to moderators that are from another country then? lol simple fix to me...and btw this will cripple the game if this becomes to big of a problem..be just, ppl  X)

how do you help your alliance, can you send army over to help defend, i do believe you cant transfer funds, tried that along time ago .....or do you just attack the attacker for revenge?

thats all i can think of right now, im sure ill come up with more later  :D

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on February 07, 2008, 20:18:58 PM
no

no :)

depends, in the beginning yes, later u will need catapults and trebs. larger sieges bring more MP :D

that's shown only in r1 and r4 (realms with shown online status)

there are lots of tactics in alliance wars, it all depends on ur personal strategies, ur allies, enemy alliance, the number of active wars...

if u're not in alliance, but u wanna fight in wars, u can always create ur own alliance. just ask 4 of ur friends to make an acc in that realm, push their points to 150 and after joining ur alliance go to vac mode. u'll be in an active alliance, u'll get leader bonuses, and in wars all will be on u :D

don't go there, there's enough posts about cheaters and people turing them in...we don't want another fight over sth that will never change *stop*

u can't join forces, and can't transfer funds (at least not in any legal way). u can attack same players, threaten another alliance with war...

u just do that :D *bear*

 *bear*  :D
well, im tryin to enjoy right now but my eco is so slow in realm 25....i want in the blitz realm, but no signups till march i think...
ugh for any realm...
realm25 is a bit harder realm aint it? to me it seems some prices are WAY steaper then when i last played...

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on February 07, 2008, 20:31:10 PM
i'm also in r25, but i think i'll quit, it's too slow and too long 4 me... but i'm sure there'll soon start a new era in some of the realms if u wanna create a new acc. in new realm.

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: CMB4Life on February 07, 2008, 20:32:36 PM
oh and if a pretty powerful person starts attacking your alliance buddies.... (got 10 already when we all get 150 points) *YAHOO* and u cant wage a war on 1 individual person i dont think....u jus hit him over n over ??? lol id hate to b that guy then  :D
no1 messes with CMB n gets away with it *Angry*
:-X (we havnt banded yet, give us time to make that threat a reality) :D
and by then youll see DAWN turn to dusk  :P

I have I question, I trying to research Centralization level 1 , in the info box it says the base price is 800 wood .... but the actual price required is much much more: 28302 wood , 18868 stone ... so is the price related to the population or something else?

Regards
khaled

should clear up my ? better . i can open it but what i do not get is all the numbers like on the side in green it started with 105 him and 110 me. at the end he had 62 and i had a -?

the # under your guys are your troops? right?

during the fortress round i lost nothing and he lost nothing till round 5 i think. i had 450 archers and he had 900 swords. how does that work? don't archers fire down on the troops at the wall?or do they only fight after the wall falls?

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: carman on February 13, 2008, 05:48:20 AM
105 is your starting morale and 110 is his. 110 is because he is leader and gets 5 points bonus morale and you have 105 because you are an advisor but those are your starting morale.

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: CMB4Life on February 13, 2008, 07:45:48 AM
i think i can clear up this, i think he wants to know the actual battle numbers and every thing, through the different rounds and everything right? theres 3 stages, field battle, fortress seige, and garrison battle, itl say if you lost or won, and u click on one of those 3 stages and it will open up that tab and give you all the detailed info
hope that helped ya :)

Title: Re: Beginners questions
Post by: stud on February 13, 2008, 14:06:43 PM
that “green numbers” is ur and enemies moral, it decreases every round of the battle (the more troops u lose, the more moral is decreased). u lose most moral during the fortress siege, 4 per round if there are no archers in the fort, and 7 if there are. archers start shooting in the round 2, but attacking archers shoot with 33% power, while archers in the fort have x4 bonus. if ur moral drops under 50, there's a chance ur army will flee form the battle field (the more u're under 50, the greater is the chance of retreat)

i got a quicky....tactics lvl 1 raises morale 10 points right...well once lvl 5 it only raises it +1......so does that mean lvl 2 n so on do more than 1, lik 10+, or maybe 6 or somthin? i really need to know how to get about 10 extra points quick cuz i can take this guy but i risk half my good units, and i dont wanna risk that, iv had too many battls lost at 39 moral -_- even lik 45 lol it sucks when that happens....

Tactic from 1-5 doesn't add you no morale bonus.  From start of the 6 tactic lv you get 1 morale bonus for each level you develop.   If you want quicly 10 morale bonus then form an alliance and you will get an 10 moral bonus.

you have 110 morale because of you are the alliance leader.  you get the +10 morale bonus eaven if the alliance is not active. I always create an alliance to get the +10 morale bonus.

Seems to me that you risk a lot.  I almost newer attack if theres 50% chance that I'll lose.  I always have to make sure that I' ll win the battle over 50 morale.

no, really? :D

if they applied to be in ur alliance, just go to alliance>members and click accept

for good defense, build high lvl fort, and fill it with archers, in the field keep mainly swords and cav

first, u need to have at least 2 provs to send res. if u have, go to trade>moving resources, type in the number of res u wanna send to the prov u're in, and click the send button. the higher ur trde depots, the more res u can send at once

u can't

can you help them defend? i know you can help attack via attacking first.

only help u can give them in defense is to attack the guy who's attacking ur ally, and hope he'll recall his attack to intercept ur army

and is there a post about this stuff anywhere else on here so i can just look at that?

probably there is, but i'm too lazy to look 4 them :) try the search button, u should be able 2 find what u're looking 4, or just post ur questions here, there'll always be some1 2 answer them :) and i don't mean “RTFM” answers :P

u'll see an icon, 2 bloody crossed swords, on the top of the screen, between pop number and res number. it will show up when the army is 1 hour away
