That could be interesting.  For 2-3 days, trade prices will fall like a toddler in roller skates while people with big armies struggle to stay out of negative gold.  Then the race is on to every loaded goldmine and neg gold trapped player in the realm creating something akin to a market price bungee jump.   *hahaha*

call it a medieval christian tradition : Xmas was traditionally a non-warring period (not even considering the winter conditions ;)), just like Easter .... but even Admins deserve to take a break from running IO at xmas and new year, don't you think ?  *drunk*

Wasn't army upkeep stopped as well last year during the break?
I have a feeling that it was, but, at the moment, it is an unsubstantiated remembrance of a bygone era.

Admins (!!!) - hope that armies won't stuck and sorry - no presents...  *ok*?

well i think that it's appropriate for a 2-3 day break ofc with no upkeep and no resources generating. coz i think that there are quite a number of players that might go on a break or holiday with no access to the net.

Some people don't wanna play games at Christmas or at New Year. They wanna be with her own family or friends. So I think they stop attack for this;

What You Should Do On Christmas?;

  - Give presents, each other.
  - Have fun.
  - Relax, have rest.
  - And be with your family.

   What You Should Do On New Year (2009)?;

  - Give presents, each other.
  - Have fun.
  - Get drunk  *drunk*
  - Be with your girl friend ( as somebody know, GF).
  - Play with fireworks (i mean play SAFE).

 Thats it.
