Because of my desire to spam and the bizarre nature of this war I decided to share my experience with you.

First some data: Realm 9 / Era x (between 05.07.07 / 05.11.07) / acc Daenerys / some premium extras

It was a not so interesting summer day when I decided to check what's going on with the good old IO. Surprisingly an old account of mine was still active in R9. Well why not? It was day 47 (if I remember correct) - more than perfect time to start :P the beginning is not so interesting - I quickly build 8-provincer with boxed mountainous legendary fortress (7lvl finished just after the beginning of war) - there are plenty of noobs and inactives, so gold flows to my treasury like vast river. I decided that I need active alliance so I can declare some poitless wars upon some weak alliances, possibly gaining some extra bounty, so I invited plenty of low-pointers - some of them were deceived and came to help me activate my alliance. Time passed and I were near 40k networth, still barely passed 100k population in 8th and ~550k for the empire, some weak army, just finishing armor 10. Just a day or two later some strange guys from the opposite side of the world decided that my alliance is a piece of cake, laying down and waiting to be eaten by them.

So they declare war - sudameriks vs Stormborn 2007-10-04 09:53:14 2007-10-11 09:53:14 - they have 3 players with more networth (40-60k) than me and two more (30k) with less in my 2x, my alliance consists of me and 4 puppets (one of them became gold coin) ...

For now nothing interesting ;] the funny thing is that I haven't sent even one attack against any of them and they're hopelessly losing the war :)
First their leader comes to visit me, but my brand new paladins save the day in the last moment. His brave soldiers fight till their morale went to 23, but never managed to touch the fortress walls.

I tell this guy that the war is lost, but for some reason he does not accept the inconvenient reality and mobilize his alliance to fight. Next his biggest player visits my for during 6 hour break. Almost a pyrrhic victory...my army is away.

Then again he sends his army to destroy mine while I'm online... Unfortunately my soldiers are not ready yet and the calculator gives me unsatisfying reports - either he wins around 28-35 morale or flees. I decided to accept the battle - what else would anyone play for  *Angry* but the odds are against me and my army suffers a defeat - R.E.M.O wins with 32 final morale  :( :-\ . However I still had the lead and since I did not plan any offensive activity (despite some pillages if I needed a handful of points) so I thought I would still win.

After that their smallest player attacks one of my puppets - he's far from my 3x so I don't care - puppets are not a good source of points :) There

They decide to set me on fire - normal but pointless reaction since my population is low due to the late start. In fact I was happy to see that :) I could have the chance to stop one more attack ;p

after that they pillaged from weakest to stronges - dunno why :) I would do exactly the opposite.

Soon I was lucky again - unsafe siege with offline attacker and online defender; my army was away, but fortunately I got 1000 paladins ready just before the battle :)

So far we had 4 real battles - 3 defensive victories for me, and 1 unlucky defeat... I'll post reports after a week, so you can enjoy some nicy defensive victories, one of them against times bigger army with just 1000 palas and stoned defender.

wow, very nice  *bear* I just took a look at the networth differences, huge. those guy performed badly, considering that they fought almost against one player.
