Can you "control the market"?

Is it possible to make huge profits from the market? Make the market your principal income?

for players that are far ahead of most of the rest of the realm (usually as a result of lots of diamonds) it is possible for them to highly control the market, this is how they could do that:
decide on a price for a resource and put a large sum of that resource for that price, and then buy up all of the other offers on the market that are below your offer. You have to be quite rich to do this because it will cost a lot buying all the offers below your offer... other people who want to continue selling this resource can place it right beneath yours to undercut you, but if you're rich enough you can just easily buy it for yourself and starve the whole realm of this resource, essentially creating a monopoly on that resource... also you would have to be quite active to continue buying up all the offers under yours

but that is only possible for a small amount of players when they are far ahead... other than that the market is still very useful to most players, even without "controlling the market" there are still tricks you can use to make gold like the most obvious trick is buying low and selling high, because resource prices naturally move up and down quite a bit. for all the methods though i don't see it ever becoming the majority of your income because for example in the case where you are very rich relative to your realm and you are controlling the market you probably already have a large economy with your empire that is producing lots of resources
